Michigan Plastic Surgery has successfully completed a year in basic science and clinical research both. The faculty enjoys a great diversity of interests which is reflected in its understanding and development of basic biological techniques, keeping in mind the demands that future will offer.
There also exists extramural funding for various aspects of bone remodeling with craniofacial development, outcomes studies following breast reconstruction, clinical investigation of growth factors in wound healing, wound healing, and the use of telemedicine for patient care in the future.

There are over 140 professionals who have been trained through various residency programs in General Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, and Vascular Surgery. Fellowships in Hand Surgery, Cranio-facial Surgery, Breast Surgery, Transplantation and Vascular Surgery are also offered over here.
Honored by numerous national and international scientific presentations, the faculty also witnesses visiting professorships, not to mention the peer reviewed research awards and publications along with it. The training programs on research have been attracting many outstanding spokespersons from the most prestigious medical schools in the country.
